Celebrating Unity Through Diversity Through Powerful Art
Vista Charter Middle School wanted a mural project that would reflect its core themes of unity, diversity, and identity. The school envisioned artwork that not only represented its community and it's values, but also actively involved students in the design and creation process.

Step in Cole Eisenhour, the artist who created three vibrant murals to bring this vision to life, each designed and painted with student participation. Two murals feature portraits of children from different cultural backgrounds interwoven with symbols and patterns from their heritage, celebrating unity through diversity. The third mural highlights the school’s core values through lettering of their values, as well as additional portraiture, reinforcing the shared sense of community at Vista. Throughout the project, students contributed design ideas through surveys and painted alongside the artist during workshops, making the artwork a reflection of student voices and the school’s inclusive spirit.
