Derrik is the Founder and an alumni of IUSD. He has a deep passion for servicing schools in his hometown.
Celebrating Roadrunner Pride Through Art and Assemblies
As one of IUSD's newest campuses, Loma Ridge was looking to build school spirit and give students a symbol to rally around - their mascot, Dash the Roadrunner. The school requested a mural of Dash alongside programming that would engage the entire campus.
We kicked things off with two school-wide assemblies, teaching students about public art, the artists behind it, and the career paths available in the creative industry. Derrik then developed a rendering of Dash to anchor the campus, and students got hands-on through a painting workshop - helping bring their Roadrunner to life themselves.
