Bringing School History to Life Through Art and Student Engagement

Johnson Middle School sought to honor its rich history through a bold visual statement. Past preserving the school's heritage, the administration wanted an interactive experience that would allow students to connect with the past and engage in hands-on learning.

To bring this vision to life, the school collaborated with multidisciplinary artist Trudy Tran. She was the perfect artist for this piece as her work explores diverse traditions, identities, and cultural narratives, often blending storytelling elements and an appreciation for nature.

It was a meaningful opportunity for students to deepen their connection to the school while actively contributing to the mural’s creation.
