CASTLEMONT HIGHSCHOOL
Oakland Unified School District

the artists
Izzy and Derrik teamed up to reflect Castlemont High’s identity, spirit, and core values through a collaborated project.
Visually Representing School Identity and Core Values
Castlemont High School sought to create murals that would reflect its identity and resonate with both students and the surrounding community.
This was a collaborative project between Artist Izzy and Founder Derrik, resulting in eight murals across campus. Izzy brought the Castlemont knight to life in a bold, inspiring way, while Derrik used symbolic imagery to represent the school’s core values. Students played a key role in the design process, helping choose meaningful symbols that embody what the school stands for.

This project offered a unique chance to enrich the school’s atmosphere through large-scale artwork.
